Connect student payments

Save the studio Stripe secret key that charges students. Stripe Connect is used for team payouts, not for membership Checkout.

Who can do this: Studio managers and company admins (manage workspace). Instructors cannot edit Integrations.

Student Checkout, packs, drop-ins, the Customer Portal, and late-cancel / no-show fees use the studio Stripe secret key on Settings → Integrations. They do not use Stripe Connect destination charges, and they do not use the Fitness Class Studio software-subscription key.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Integrations.
  2. Paste the studio Stripe secret key and save.
  3. Use Test connection before selling packages.
  4. Optional: turn on Pass processing fees to client. When on, memberships, packs, drop-ins, class fees, and retail items add the same labeled Card processing fee (~2.9% + $0.30 gross-up) on Stripe Checkout. Off by default.
  5. If you pay instructors from this Stripe account, also save the Class payments and Connect / instructor payouts webhook signing secrets on the same page. See Instructor payouts.

Stripe Connect — what it is used for

Paying 1099 team members uses Stripe Connect Express on that same Integrations key (platform balance → Transfer). Student checkout never uses destination or direct charges.

Gotchas

  • Settings → Subscription is the studio’s own Fitness Class Studio bill. It is a different Stripe use than student class payments.
  • Promo codes must be created in this same studio Stripe Dashboard. A code from another Stripe account will not apply. See Create and use promo codes.
